Girl Power

I’m all about woman being empowered and doing what men can do! I’m not a feminist, but if a man can do it, so can we! I went for an oil change today in Scottsdale, Arizona and met a nice young guy that owns a local car shop. He gave me a flier for a woman, by the name of Diamon who teaches women “Auto Basics.” Its a simple workshop on the basics of cars. “You can ask all of the questions you want without judgements.” All classes are on Sundays and you must bring your own car. You can call her at 480-946-1967. More girl power to you!

Napolean Perdis New Colors!

I’m overly obsessed with the line. Its’ changed my life! Really! I’ve been in Phoenix, and thought that I’d have a flagship store near me and I don’t. Panic! The line is carried at your local Ulta in Arizona. See the new collection of colors for summer! For clients and myself, I’ve used their amazing products for eyes. The Autopilot Duet Makeup Remover ($26) is flawless. Its’ gentle and easily removes all of the gunk around the eye area. I use their Peep Show Mascara. Forget the fake eyelashes, I set them with their incredible eyelash primer, follow by their Madame Beyond ($25). The outcome? Sexy, beautiful, lush lashes! Their Cake Eyeliner ($18) is exquisite. To apply, get their brush g5 ($20). You’ll be able to beautifully define your eyes and brows.

Christ like

What does it mean to be spiritual? Does it mean, attend church every week? Does it mean, chant to Buddha everyday? Doesn’t spirituality mean connecting to spirit to unite body and soul?
In the Christian church, saying one is “spiritual, but not religious” is frowned upon. This means, that you’re not going to follow the status quo. Growing up Christian, was a challenge for me. I’ve recently experienced the death of my younger brother. He was truly a spiritual being. He desired to be an eminent spirit being, by longing to connect to God through music. He wanted to help the downtrodden, he was dedicated to ministry, and he wanted nothing more than for people to know God the way he did. He had a strong persona, which is what it takes to be leader, yet he was graceful. Isn’t that a simple way to live? He truly is my inspiration.
As a Christian, our goal is to embody Christ’s spirit. As a yogi, the path is similiar. Its’ to enlightment by practicing yoga of the heart, mind, and body.
When you hear someone say they’re “spiritual but not religious,” don’t make assumptions about their beliefs. Bow down to the loving, beautiful, and divine person in front of you. We are not perfect. We have made mistakes and we suffer the consequences. I love one of the most basic verses in the book of John of the New Testament in the Bible, John 3:16, “For God so loved the World, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.” Huh. Hard to grasp, but really simple. God gave his only son to die for the world? Its’ my belief, and if I believe in Christ, I will be love. If I love others, that means, I respect them, and I act “Christ like.” I can live with that.

A Spring Detox-Hammam Ritual to go

Feeling a little under the weather or sort of tired? Your body wants a long needed rest or even a detox. Living in a big city takes a toll on our bodies. Try taking a long brisk evening walk, or start with a gentle yoga class if you’re not used to taking yoga. There is also one more option-the invigorating Hammam Ritual. In Los Angeles, you can come to Spa Luce where a spa professional performs an 80 minute ritual of brushing, buffing, exfoliating, and ending the ritual with a Turkish massage. The product used is by Red Flower. You can purchase the products to take with you in a travel kit if you an avid jet setter. It includes a silt purifier binding a blend of moroccan mint tea, a lemon coffee scrub (both diurectic-stimulates lymph flow), jasmine rose rhassoul clay polish (leaving the skin smooth), orange steam room mist, cardamom amber oil (diurectic and warms the body), and tangerine fig butter cream. I love this cream, it moisturizes and heals. This is the time to detox and get summer ready. Indulge and smile.
